personal tcs interview experience -
I am in NP and lwd is on 27th dec. I already hold an offer of 22 lpa and cctc 9lpa. Last month I got a call from tcs team for an opportunity. I told them my expectations are min 24 lpa as I already have an offer. They were okay with that and proceeded my candidature. After 3 weeks and 4 rounds of interview they told me to submit my docs and told me they are ready to give me 12-13 lpa max considering this is my 2nd switch in 4years. Tata Consultancy

@Op-Based on my understanding this is how it works.
1)Hr spoke to you and your expectations were well within their budget
2)You did well that is why you were sent for n number of rounds
3)Someone,who could be anyone a cat,dog,mouse or whoever agreed to join at 13 trumps your skills any day. Its a game of margin for companies.
4)You were among the best candidates they interviewed so they thought of asking you to join them.
Bhai service industry is like agar client laash ki billing dene ko tayyar ho jaye to ye laash ko hire kar lein.You can imagine laash ki koi expectations to hongi nahi,hiring manager and hr will get pat on the back for 100%margin and when client discovers that he approved billing of a laash,achaanak se company k bgv vendor ki report aa jayegi ki bhaiya ye to laash thi. HRs will fire that laash and then bgv team and hr will get appreciated again for their high quality of governance and processes

Now don't apply for tcs , cognizant, cpgemini , Infosys even big four you are our of budget now , max deloite can give you yoe * 6 . I had experinced for all those.
Only product based can give you better than this and few service based like naggaro, tsystems ...

Seems it is you who wasted your own time. I mean how did you believe that tcs will pay you that much for your yoe? Learn from your mistakes. Don't be too greedy that you put logic aside and attend any interview.
What's wrong? You, in fact, have done a good offer shopping and TCS can do similar things.
Same with me. TCS pay scale is very low. Ignore them.
Accept it and abscond on the last day 😀😀

I got an analogy for this. Tcs is that girl who after going to 4 dates, tell us that she loves me but as a friend 😂😂. Socho tab kaisa lgega ladke ko
And this fishes tell us to keep the tcs aside until 40 year of age for retirement exit.

So have tcs when u get good role and decent package .. even if ur in late 20's or during recession time.

Well, tcs is not meant for people who are already at big numbers from their perspective. Having said that, even tcs is hiring folks for higher salaries sometimes, but those might be exceptions.

Exactly same exp. I have 4 yoe and CC c is 9.5 lpa. After clearing interviews, hr told me they can't give more than 12.3 lpa which is 30% hike.

Are Indian companies allowed to have an indemnity clause in the offer letter?
That if you don't join within the certain date you have to pay x sum of money to the company.
Is this legal in India?
Not legal at all. They will just scare you.
What is YOE? Is it just 4 or above that?

I guess they use some sort of software for calculating offer packages. They gave me same reason while salary negotiation.

Very obvious. They have been doing this with their existing employees as well. Mark my words, being an Ex-TCS er I recommend exploring the world beyond TCS. It's a lot more competitive.

I am also looking to switch companies but no company seems to reach out after seeing 3 months on my notice period. 🥲

Why are you so serious about it. They might think you are not fit to the pkg you asked. Seems you already have a better offer, go for it if you don't like the offer they give. We can't always stand by our words and it changes based on the situation.
There is no defined process for hiring whether it should not be lengthy. It's up to us whether it should take or not. I heard TCS conducts only a single round for hiring. I guess,As you asked higher pkg, to check if you are deserved or not, they might conducted sevaral rounds. This is my guess only . They will have their own process and views to follow.
Finally, TCS is a brand and will always have alternatives/options.
