personal tcs interview experience -
I am in NP and lwd is on 27th dec. I already hold an offer of 22 lpa and cctc 9lpa. Last month I got a call from tcs team for an opportunity. I told them my expectations are min 24 lpa as I already have an offer. They were okay with that and proceeded my candidature. After 3 weeks and 4 rounds of interview they told me to submit my docs and told me they are ready to give me 12-13 lpa max considering this is my 2nd switch in 4years. Tata Consultancy

So what's wrong ?
@Op-Based on my understanding this is how it works.
1)Hr spoke to you and your expectations were well within their budget
2)You did well that is why you were sent for n number of rounds
3)Someone,who could be anyone a cat,dog,mouse or whoever agreed to join at 13 trumps your skills any day. Its a game of margin for companies.
4)You were among the best candidates they interviewed so they thought of asking you to join them.
Bhai service industry is like agar client laash ki billing dene ko tayyar ho jaye to ye laash ko hire kar lein.You can imagine laash ki koi expectations to hongi nahi,hiring manager and hr will get pat on the back for 100%margin and when client discovers that he approved billing of a laash,achaanak se company k bgv vendor ki report aa jayegi ki bhaiya ye to laash thi. HRs will fire that laash and then bgv team and hr will get appreciated again for their high quality of governance and processes

Now don't apply for tcs , cognizant, cpgemini , Infosys even big four you are our of budget now , max deloite can give you yoe * 6 . I had experinced for all those.
Only product based can give you better than this and few service based like naggaro, tsystems ...

See TCS is an organisation that you should join at a very senior level where growth is not your objective anymore or you have additional priorities in life. I would say it's better not to go ahead with them at such an early stage of your career even if they offer 1 or 2 lac above the offer you have.

Nothing like that..my one of the st.manager had this mindset his experience is 22 years current CTC 50lpa. Other offer is 75lpa but he wants relax environment but tcs not even mapping his current salary! Though he wanted to move his mind is not allowing him to go for same salary level
Also it is not mandatory to ignore tcs if role is perfect compare to our other offers.
Cos one of my neighbour (age 40+) wasn't able to make big decisions for his designation in tcs whereas now in mid size company he getting exposure to lift the company to newer heights with his management skills getting more reputation !
I don't understand why so many people are discussing this filthy, not so important question for so long a time, get a life guys , there are many important questions people are waiting for us to answer. Answer them.

TCS is low baller pro max
Problem is team sourcing the CVs and team deciding on ctc are completely different. This happened with me with infy where they made me travel to central mumbai for interview only to tell that they can offer me 30% less than my current.
The learning is unless you work on something very very niche dont expect the services orgs to break the purse.
That’s typical of TCS. See the recruitment calls you get that team has its own quota of getting interviews done. Once done now the HRBP takes call on the CTC. So that’s why there’s so much disconnect. The first team would sell Taj Mahal to you to get you to the interview. That’s just how it is. Don’t join TCS even if it gives 24.
