I keep starting huge projects or hobbies and being intensely into it for about 10 days/2 weeks, after which I forget about it and the project just lays around my house for months until I get interested in it again or I toss it out/donate it. It was fine when I was living alone but my partner is seriously frustrated with how messy the house gets and how much I spend on supplies for these things. How can I be less impulsive OR how can I stay motivated past the 10 day mark?? TIA

In a meeting we a client, we were looking at a stock image of a smiling Black man holding a baseball bat while wearing a hoodie. The client comments that it’s the wrong way to hold a bat. Cool. But, then follows up and says, “Also, he just looks aggressive. Like, this person would definitely attack me and my family.” I was shocked. But, apparently, I was the only one. Because everyone else on the call laughed. They were all white except for my partner who is Mexican. But, he still chuckled.

At a previous company... we were contractually obligated to have deployed (and provided 24x7 monitoring of) an AT&T Cybersecurity product suite for a managed network client, but we never deployed the solution. Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code.

I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”.
