Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

McKinsey & Company I did my final round with McKinsey today, and I I received a rejection call from the partner today. However, he said I did really great and wants to keep in touch with me. He also mentioned that I should reapply in 6 months. Does anyone have any similar experience? Do I have a better chance if I reapply next time?McKinsey & Company

Kellogg is a hell of a breakfast cereal
Would second many of the above in choosing Darden. I chose Booth / Kellogg in a similar situation - had a blast, but definitely realize that my shot at MBB/B4 would have been roughly comparable and Darden feels much much cheaper.
Plus, sounds better for you on the personal front as well, which (at the end of the day) is more important if you really think the relationship could be it.
I’ve never regretted making a decision to support my wife (even the major ones such as moving across the country)... just be sure it’s a 2 way street.
Darden is 60 hours a week of class and homework, Kellogg is like 15-20
Kellogg. more fun, better ranked. You’ll earn the cost back fast enough!
^ lol. No. Girlfriend had exact same situation and chose Kellogg. Still regretting it.
You will not beat Cville - Darden all the way
Op do you want to marry your BF?
I can only speak about Darden but it was a truly an excellent experience. It’s a very tight knit community and I found it so supportive. Professors are amazing. Practically, you will have plenty of chances to recruit at MBB/Big 4 at Darden. Taking out loans now may feel like Monopoly money but it is a lot of money to repay back when you leave. I feel it each month and already paid back $50k and didn’t take out money for living costs in second year.
Hmm. Opportunities should be about the same. Darden should be more tight knit since people won’t have family etc. that live there. You are likely to end up in a big city so you may as well go to Darden now for the more unique experience. Although a half ride is a pretty big factor...
Darden was great for me. It just depends how hard you want to work. Darden will be more strenuous than other b schools.
BCG had 60+ first round interviews of a class of 320. McKinsey had 70+ and Bain had ~60as well. I don’t know how this compares to Kellogg but it’s a data point.
Lol this thread leans towards Darden and the thread in the “MBA Applicants” bowl leans towards Kellogg which is interesting. I’m guessing 🐠 is that bowl are less likely to have actually gone to b school at this point ...
What post-MBA careers are you targeting, & where?
I am currently at a boutique Strategy consulting firm and post-Mba am deciding between wanting to stay in consulting at a bigger firm (MBB/big 4) or moving into a general management rotation program. I am so torn. My boyfriend of 3 years lives in DC but trying to not let that influence my decision :/
@DD1 I do and I know that b school is tough on relationships. Regardless, I am really trying to decide what I would do if he wasn’t in the picture. I still don’t know.
Also OP I went to B-school while SO was in a different city (New York). It was hard and took a toll on our relationship. I do feel we are working through stuff after graduating that would’ve been easier if we were closer. But, he was supportive of my going to the best school for me (why I went to Darden).
As a sidebar - set expectations regarding he first semester being hardcore
Thanks all. Feels like sentiment of FB is leaning towards Darden at least...
Do you have a named scholarship to Kellogg? If so,that’s a good way to signal in addition to what must be some good test scores
KPMG- you mean Darden right? No, it was just a general merit scholarship
