Probably not the right bowl but don’t know where else to ask: for men in their late 20s/early 30s, is the style right now to wear belts? SO has been working out and gaining in his lower half so he’s getting better fitting pants/shorts that fit the new booty/thighs compared to what he used to own but his belts are suuuuuper old/falling apart so he’s debating whether to get more.

I think so. Some outfits look weird without a belt

like

I always wear a belt even when I do tuck my clothes in.

If it has belt loops and you're tucking your shirt in, you need a belt.

Then he can do whatever he wants.

If he's looking for a more streamlined silhouette I find belts can help because they keep your jeans up at your waist-->higher crotch-->longer legline-->no pooling at the ankles

But everyone's different.

It’s all personal preference. I have some friends who swear that suits should not be worn with belts. I’ve always worn belts with suits. I don’t wear belts with jeans, unless I’m tucking—which is rare and usually a mortal sin. Slacks and a button down tucked usually a belt. Belts always match the shoes.

If your suit pants have belt loops, you’re meant to wear a belt. If they have side tabs or buttons for suspenders, you aren’t.

It is generally more formal to have a tailored suit that doesn’t require a belt (eg it would be very strange to see a belt worn with a tuxedo) but in a business suit context both are acceptable.

like

Belt and suspenders!

I wear a belt every day (M28) doesn’t matter if it’s casual or formal, always wear a belt

My husband does this too.

The only time I’m not wearing a belt is if I’m in gym clothes or pajamas

For context, he usually wears all tops untucked so the belt loop area is covered anyways. For suits, agreed he should be wearing a belt but asking more for casual wear

If he’s wearing shirts untucked then he doesn’t need to wear a belt unless he wants to. Tucked in- wear a belt

Yeah that’s what I would think, especially if the pants are better fitted, it’s not like they’re gonna come down lol

RE Attorneys: When sending title objection letters, how do simplify them for parties on the other side who “just don’t get it”? I try my hardest to explain the purpose of the TOL and that most of the objections will be handled by the title company, but most sellers don’t understand, ignore the TOL, and blow the seller response deadline. Most of the time the only response that is needed is “Yes, Seller agrees to satisfy all B-I requirements and to execute an owners affidavit at closing...”

Over the last few years I’ve allowed myself to gain 40 pounds. I often feel uncomfortable and unattractive in my own body, and I fear that the extra weight puts me at greater risk if I were to catch Covid (though I am vaccinated). Despite all this, I struggle to find the motivation to change. I have lost weight before, but it all came creeping back. I feel very cynical about trying to lose it again. I guess I am just not unhappy enough to try again. Has anyone been in the same boat?
