+1 for this. I also don't look at my phone for at least half an hour after I wake up.

-Delete the apps where you waste the most time, if you do reinstall them don’t save the password (makes it less of an autopilot impulse and gives you a moment to reconsider)
-in the morning I only allow myself to briefly check my calendar and the weather to help figure out what to wear and email in case of any fire drills

Change your display to grayscale - you won’t feel like you’re missing out but you won’t be satisfied looking at your phone either so you’ll look at it less. I doubted it until I tried it for a few days!

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Vent post: Have a mentally ill family member who is not committed to getting the help they need (e.g., through therapy or medication). Been this way for years with no change or end in sight. Solid tips or strategies on cutting back on alcohol? My bf & I were moderate drinkers before the pandemic, but over the year I’m fairly confident we’ve become heavy drinkers (6-7days/wk). I’m stressed about it and have mentioned cutting back for a while, but he insists we’re fine. Help me get over my covid anxiety: had plans with a friend but they got exposed to covid. Got a neg rapid test but feel like they have a sore throat and still want to hang. Given rapids don’t necessarily detect omicron plus the symptoms, I’m a bit concerned. I’m WAAAY more cautious than most when it comes to covid (not doing indoor events yet, still masking). I tried counting my calories while on this trip. My lunch was basically my whole day’s worth of calories and I barely finished 2/3rd of it 🙃 man I HATE calorie counting. Why is weight loss so dependent on it 😭 whatever I’m just gonna enjoy this vacation and suffer the consequences. Plus side is at least we’re hiking/walking a lot.
