Tata Consultancy I am a manager in Capgemini... have an offer frm TCS. the designation being offered is Assistant Consultant.. 9.8 years experience( 5 yrs with Cap) Even though I am getting a package of 25Lakhs.. it seems like a demotion in designation.. Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. Profit sharing is annual so if you plan on leaving before the end of the year you’ll lose out more whereas bonus is paid out April / October.
Also if it was all performance bonus - you’d have to worry a bit more about your own performance than the firm’s performance. Theoretically good if you’re a top performer but on average most people get about 80% of the bonus potential.
To answer your question, I don’t think there’s a better or worse way to do it. All companies have different comp structures and LEK probably prioritizes firm performance a little bit more. (FYI bonuses can also be cut due to poor firm performance so nothing is a given)
I think you may have misunderstood the timing of profit share. If you start halfway in the year (say July), your profit share would be prorated but you would still receive it as long as you were still with the firm on Dec 31. If you started ON Dec 31 you would effectively have to wait a full year, but that’s the only instance where that would happen.
FYI LEK does not offer 401k match, but a portion of profit share payment is allocated towards your 401k/retirement
