Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Best consulting companies in the social sector?
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

MacBook for excel and ppt work is overkill. Unless you are a software developer
Nope. Also this is why we suck as a firm. Why on earth do we need metrics to realize that the free laptops we get from a vendor (in exchange for audit services) are crappy hardware!
My new surface clone is sweet.
My Dell Surface is awesome, stop worshipping Apple
If you have trouble managing Windows for a presentation, then it's likely the user, not the machine 👌🏽
Lost time
M1 we don’t get the laptops for free, we get a bulk discount but they are on lease. New laptops are actually much better. Lenovo’s yes are old and less reliable. It would actually be a big issue if the firm were providing audit services for free laptops and I’m pretty sure the laptops cost more than the audit fees anyways.
It doesn't need to be the best of the MacBook models but a simple one that's reliable and has minimum downtime e.g. MacBook Air. From memory my personal machine a MacBook hasn't needed a Genius consultation since I got it in 2014. Used it for a few presentations at job interviews without a hitch. That's reliable.
