Question for PwC peeps — are tax senior managers and directors the same role? Or do you have to be SM —> director —> partner?

The SM role was just added this year to PwC tax. So unless you were promoted to director this year or earlier, you must make the following progression: manager -> SM -> director -> partner (or MD)

Leadership claims it’s not supposed to slow people down. But it’s not clear how this will operate in practice due to this arrangement being so new.

I had a panel interview two weeks ago. I sent the recruiter a status check email last Friday and haven't heard back. I'm really interested in this company and still see the role posted on their site. I'd like to send another email today (to the hiring mgr and recruiter) reiterating my interest along with a list of references. Thoughts on sending the references without them asking? I don't do well with panel interviews and I'm hoping they look past that and check my references.

Switching from commission to salary!

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role that doesn’t pay commission. The new role will have a higher base but lower overall earning potential.

What % haircut should be expected? As an example, if I make 100k (base + commission) today, would it be realistic to ask for 90k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?

Any insight on the interview process or how long it takes or any sort of idea to give me on what I could look for that might help me believe I might get an offer? Checked my online application again recently and still says “In Consideration”
