A1- No... I use personal for all my hotels
Yes D does
At PWC you can enroll in the AMEX rewards program and at least get a point per dollar spent
All of the major firms require you to use the corporate card. It makes it easier for them to track expenses.
There are folks at the firm who use a personal card, but it's explicitly written in the policy & we have required training on the topic so it's not worth the risk IMO.
At Accenture we just have to use the corporate Amex for flights. We're supposed to use it for all other expenses but I've never heard of this being enforced
FYI to those who didn't know. A reason the firm forces us to use corp amex is because they get a kickback from Amex for forcing us to use the card. Its a percentage of all transactions and both provides a small amount of revenue and reduces operational risk
Damn that sucks. We can use whatever for hotel but flights get booked and paid through concur with us.
Yes
K - feeling better that EY isn't the only firm
PwC too, all work expenses (hotel, travel, food) go on Corp Amex
Thanks homies
Everyone does. Are you new in consulting?
P3 - yeah that's the best way to double up on points.
KPMG 1 - no, but it's a new'ish policy for EY within the last 2-3 years.
A2, you may choose whatever credit card you want to use at hotel, but policy states Amex. Whether you choose to follow policy is up to you, and not my problem.
AFS can use whatever they want
At Capgemini it's written policy to use the corp Amex but it just depends on the project and the project manager. Feel like that'd be the same for every company.
A1- eh I was told by HR during orientation on the first day that you don't need to even get the corporate Amex A3- we don't use it for flights either, flights require WBS codes
After I hit the spend bonuses on all the major cards in the first year or so on the job I quit bothering. Corp Amex is just easier.
Been here 10 years, the only time I used corporate Amex was 10 years ago during orientation. Flights are booked through the travel portal using a WBS. Everything else (hotels, car rentals, food, etc) goes on a personal card.
