Rant - being laid off and trying to bounce back is so difficult in this market. I have been laid off 4 times in the past 2 years and I’m currently bracing for my current company to be shut down since we don’t have funding. I’ve applied to variety of roles and I keep getting rejected… even the over qualified ones. I have a feeling it’s the case only because of my multiple short stints… that were out of my control 😫 I know recruiters are known to be resilient but man when can we catch a break

About rolling off my project with no new project opportunity yet. I’m already getting anxious and can’t have a full night rest with the worry of not finding a project soon and eventually getting laid off. Although I tend to stress-out easily but this type of anxiety is different. Are others feeling the same way? Also over 90% chargeability and great reviews, but seems like that may not matter with the recent layoff stories I’ve read....

Do consulting firms ever do mass layoffs right before they pay out bonuses in order to avoid paying them out? Is this a common procedure?

I need to choose between nagarro (WFH) and optum(WFO), tomorrow is my joining.
I am Java backend developer.
Optum - 29L fixed + 6L variable+ 5L JB (WFO).
Nagarro - 31.5 fixed + 1.5L project allocation bonus (permanent WFH)
Considering WLB and job security, plus I want to move to company like FAANG(fintect) in few months.

Anyone has insights into whether we can claim depreciation for our “home office” due to WFH? Not an expert here but looks like it’s for self employed individuals only, but maybe the individual tax experts in this community can help everyone out a bit 🤪

Was recently offered comp of 160k with 20% bonus was informed will not receive bonus for 2022 due to time of year (too late based on hiring date) Therefore I'm curious to say if I should be asking for higher salary base or a sign on bonus in lieu of the lack of bonus since I won't be receiving a bonus until 2024 technically?

I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.
