If you don’t get OT as a freelancer, go somewhere else (I’m also one)
They will work you until you keel over. They have you in the system that way because its cheapest for them--they dont care how it is for you.
If you have enough money in the bank, you have all of our permission to leave and take a little vaca, then look for the next thing. @AD1 is right, you should enjoy the good parts of freelancing (but I get there needs to be suffering when the coffers are empty). Good luck. Trust that youll find work.
If you're paid hourly it's not normal not to get OT as 1.5x your hourly rate. That's how I freelance myself and know this is messed up for a fact. Do you work/get paid hourly? Or on a day or weekly rate? That'd be a different story
That’s Publicis for you. The strategy team their will work you until you’re dust
I have a fixed weekly rate. No OT because of this
That’s because you’re not eligible with a weekly rate, it’s flat. There are advantages to this and disadvantages. Next time negotiate an hourly rate.
The whole point of freelancing is to bank cash and move. It might help if you fix a number you want to hit before you move, then at least your exhaustion is toward a goal. If you want to go FT you could always ask.
You should be getting OT. Explain how that arrangement works? usually Pub is very buttoned up on that.
Publicis pays overtime. 14+ hours for dayrates and 40+ hours/week for hourlies.
Funny you say public is pays OT. Cause I asked and I can’t get it
