Hi all! I’m looking to connect with folks who either work at Coinbase or have interviewed recently for the Business Operations and Strategy Manager or similar role. I am looking to schedule my first interview which I believe is a consulting style case. So any details you can provide, I am all ears. The next interview will be a presentation. Again if you have any experience/advice on this, I’m ready to listen.
Thanks in advance! Help me escape Deloitte pleaseeee. I want this job sooo much!

why would citi check your credit score?
Hahaha! @Manager 1, with this economy and worldwide inflation, this might not be a bad idea. Kidding! XD
They do the credit check as a security precaution. Generally people with large debts/many accounts in bad standing are seen as more “desperate” and more likely to mishandle funds/investments/etc. Unless it’s REALLY bad, I don’t think they will flag it.
Nah you'll be fine
I think as long as you haven't been bankrupt it should be ok.
No bankruptcy, thankfully. Just took a hit on my credit score.
I think it is common in the finance and banking world. Personally, I had come to terms with a credit card a few years before switching from previous career to this. I was asked about it and I explained the circumstances, and all was well.
In my case it was a debt related to my new wife's time as a single mother going to school full time and working almost full time.
I had been debt free (other than mortgage) when we got married, and was in a completely unrelated field when we made that decision, so it was not held against me. If I had been in the industry I don't think they would have been as understanding.
If you have not defaulted or come to terms on a debt , just a low score shouldn't be a big deal.
It shouldn’t be an issue, The main thing they look for is multiple bankruptcies and judgements, not actual credit score/debts
I don't think it will really affect you that much. As you said, you have no bankruptcy. So there's nothing to worry about :)
You’re fine
How long did you receive an offer after being interviewed?
Yes in the same shoes. I have completed third round interview since early jan and still haven’t gotten offer letter.
Update: all went well! Thank you folks. Going to clear up my debt, and have my score back in the 700’s in no time!🙏🏽✨ stay safe and healthy.
