Recently lateraled in as a mid/senior associate, but I really have about two years in my practice area and a year of general corporate before that. Deal flow has been slow, but when things pick up, I definitely notice some gaps.
I didn’t choose my seniority level; that’s just how the firm slotted me. The gap between class year and experience is from stealth layoffs and a rough market. Any advice on how to get up to speed without partners losing confidence?

Do you all sometimes feel overwhelmed by all the self care tips you see online. Gua sha, sleeping mask, satin pillowcase, this body wash, that scrub, dermaplaning. I don’t know what I should do vs. what not. 😰 and I feel like if I don’t do it, I’m not taking care of myself and not going to look good a few years later. 😓

They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? Hi, weird question for this forum, so I apologize. I’m trying to be creative here and use the tv stand that I have. The issue is that it has an open back so you can see all my tv wires. I can’t hide the wires because my building won’t let me open the wall. My idea was to slip a tile sheet that is wall behind the tv stand as a back, but I need the tile cut to the specific heigh and width of the tv stand. Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!
