Recently left my agency because our account director was HORRIBLE and the Creative Director all she did was cuss out everyone internally (HORRIBLE culture). Anyways, I love that the client is still reaching out to me. But they just told me they are firing the agency because the account team has been dropping the ball... what should I do?

She makes less than me, but I max 401k/Roth ira so there’s not a huge gap in net pay (I’m still higher 10-15k) . I was making $62k at my last job which seemed severely underpaid, especially in Los Angeles. I would be fine with $85k but would definitely be more comfortable with around $92k. All AMs on my account are supposed to get planning training, our CS VP was replaced with a VP of Planning but they kept the CS SVP. They said this is part of an “industry trend”. Has anyone else experienced this? As an account exec, I'm the producer. I was really lucky for a few years to have a director who helped with every aspect of the shoot - budgeting, scheduling, shot list, even manual labor! That director is no longer with our agency, and our new director is very hands-off.

I'm trying to understand if I was just spoiled with our past director, or if our new director is lazy... or if it's a mixture of both.

I have an SAE starting and the PM director is adamant that “Account trains Account” on all things. I think PM needs to be involved to develop a relationship and help set a good tone, especially when it comes to the interaction we have with each other. Am I looking at this wrong? How are others doing this?
