I always roll prior 401k balances into my personal IRA because I have more control over the investment options and prefer that it all be in one central account. But if you’re happy with the options you have, and the fees are ok, you don’t really gain anything (or lose anything) by keeping the balance where it is.
Edit - MD1 makes a good point; for example at Vanguard they have “Admiral” shares for their funds, where it’s just a higher minimum balance per fund (maybe 50k vs 3k), and if you exceed that higher minimum, your fees are lower with Admiral shares than with regular. So that’s an actual quantifiable benefit.
You make more money with higher fund balances. i.e. if you roll over you would be able to purchase more shares of a given fund and could make more money on any gains

You can take out a bigger loan if your 401K allows for that. Very useful because the loans are instant and have low interest rates.
