Hi Amazonians. Can you share the work culture in Retail tech team or in Amazon in general. I've received an SDE1 offer. I have other offers from Microsoft and Goldman Sachs as well. I am really confused between Amazon and Microsoft. All the people I've talked to have said to take the Microsoft offer. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

It’s only been a month? A thank you. If it’s been a longer period of time I usually give one
Week salary

@A1, it’s the nanny’s 2nd week.
We normally do ~1-2 weeks pay. Pro-rata that’s ~2 days pay for you. $100-200 gift card more than enough
Thank you all for your suggestions.
We do 2 weeks pay. I’m not sure why the length of service would play in so hard. Assuming you like her and want to reward her for being great, I’d say at least give 1 week. She isn’t going to do the math about pro rating the bonus by number of days. And in my opinion anything less than 1 week would seem like a snub. Most nannies factor some form of bonus (not a present which is what the $100 would be) into their pay.
@guidehouse1- 2 weeks pay? That’s more than what I got for my bonus. Sorry but I am not taking your suggestion. If you have money, pls give us some!!!
Huh? OP.. Your bonus was less than 4%? Well, I’m just telling you what is standard in our area, maybe you can get away with less. But it’s 1-2 weeks. I think many families factor that into the cost of a nanny as they are considering if they can afford it. I’m sure whatever you decide will be fine. Just make sure you show appreciation for what she is doing for your family
I know the standard is 1 weeks pay. But you need to read my original post where I have specified that the caregiver started with us a month back and will be with us until March 2019. We have already decided on the amount to give and is no way close to the amount your specified. And yes, 1300 was my bonus. Got a problem with that ?
We did 2 weeks pay because we thought ours was a rock star
