R/GA - they are the worst. Some of the people they have hired over the years makes me wonder if their HR department is smoking crack

Career advice?

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

Any opinions/tips?

I went on mutiple round interviews with a firm. HR basically said they wanted a firm commitment after the 3rd round. I told them I was extremely interested and looking forward to seeing what the offer was but I couldn't speak in absolutes.

Then ghosted.

I'm trying to frame my answer to the leadership question. I once talked to my mom about how I was selected as CEO in a group project. It was because of my strong technical skills+connections(I already know 80% of the group)+activeness. My mom said that's exactly what she values in the professional setting. Can I answer the question in this way during interviews? I feel like it's not the common approach since this answer does not involve any specific actions, but could potentially stand out.

Got the call today about promotion - super excited for this next leg. Also a bit nervous given performance expectations and the market right now. I know things will improve and I'm in a great service line with huge future growth potential, but a little daunting nonetheless. Great way to start the weekend!

Where Cognizant offering more package almost 1.5 Lpa mor, but heard lot of negative review on social media like they don't have good project, no job security, they will make you to work on other tech etc . Email response from a resume submission requesting times to chat and that she's " really looking forward to speaking with me." Three email replies later - crickets. I'm so tired of this shit...

Sadly a lot of recruiters are unemployed and being ghosted themselves.

Scale of 1-10, how crazy is it to check-in email the CDs you interviewed with? Unless there’s been a terrible accident I’m pretty sure the recruiter is ghosting me. The not knowing is killing me!

Had interviews at three different places recently, all of which seemed to go well. Recruiters/HR people told me they’d be in touch with next steps end of last week or early this week. Haven’t heard from any of the three and none of them have responded to follow-up emails 🙃

Mullen Lowe, after I was flown in for an all day interview and workshopped a deck the team was struggling with on the fly. Had to bug them for 3 months to get my cab fare refunded.

Had what had to be the best call with a recruiter I’ve ever had — she seemed so excited to pass my work to her teams, received the sweetest follow up email from her, but now it seems like she’s ghosting me. UGHHHHH. Any words of wisdom or advice? Feeling bummed because I was super excited about this opportunity.
