I have a couple of questions for ZS fishes-
1. Is it possible to turn down a promotion at ZS? I'm currently happy with my responsibilities as a Decision Analytics Consultant and don't want any added responsibilities in the near future (next 5 years)
2. Is it possible to shape up a career path in the BC stream which doesn't involve business development? I don't want to get into working on SOWs and RFPs.

SC did the right thing. There could be headache or growing pains in the short term but it is a necessary market correction. Same goes for Ayodhya. The legal argument for a Ram temple there is very strong and I hope we put the subject to rest once and for all.
Those who know the legend of Sabarimala know that it's neither discrimination nor exploitation of women. I urge every woman to first research and read about the legend of Sabarimala before jumping to conclusions.
PwC1 - right, "status quo" of attacking women and not letting them in places of worship, we have to be ashamed of these right wing religious barbarian filth that things such acts are on behalf of a god. The God is probably wondering about the quality of his followers
Come on P1. It’s 2018, get your head out of your ass.
Just to repeat, I don't condone violence against Women, but I firmly believe the SC is responsible for all the violence. Life is not ideal, there are miscreants who look for an opportunity for nonsense. SC gave them one.
Lol what is so leftist about SC agenda? They did the right thing on Sabrimala and Sec 377. They’ll also do the right thing on Ayhodhya by allowing Hindus to build a Ram Temple there. Let’s see what P1 and others think about this “leftist” agenda then. Everything isn’t effin left and right.
@SM1 I support SC verdict on 377, I don't support Sabarimala. Conservatives like me exist, I prefer status Quo on Ram Mandir, not building one i.e. Now tell me what do you classify my political leaning as?
P1, I can’t classify you as left or right as I myself don’t believe in that garbage. Anyhow, no matter what your political leanings are, I consider some of your views to be unsavory. Let’s leave it at that.
@SM1 I highly agree with your point on access to religious institutions - I am not quite sure on the timing. If this ruling was not thus, there would have been further petitions - our legal system is robust and there are enough liberals and activists to keep the govt on its toes. There is precedence where a judgement given today has been overturned or changed over time - I believe India in its current climate did not need this judgement because it is not about bringing someone to justice. It is an isolated incident which is playing on a highly divisive atmosphere where the left and the right rather than behaving for the betterment of the country is playing a game of upmanship. You and I as educated people understand that it has to happen, but there are more religiously oriented people than us and they don't draw a line.
P1, on the other hand I agree with you on ram mandir. Again my benchmark there is the same. It’s groups bickering over a piece of land. Personally if we have the resources and budget , I would probably have them invest it in infrastructure , not resurrecting another religious institution from 15th century. You have to go to ayodhya and you will notice the city like any Indian city can use some development. I mean it’s a no brainer for me, but status quo is better. It will not bring any change, will just divide the country and all sides will use that as a political agenda. But Sabrimala creates a precedence that can be used to for a broader social change, even at the expense of social unrest in that area.
This discussion proves that people didn't research much on the issue and the legend behind Sabarimala.
It is not about discrimination but about faith and respect.
So two things at the end who attack Sabarimala out of no where :
1. Motivated interests to blemish Hinduism and its practices
2. Ignorance
I just hope point 2 holds true. Ignorance is better than vested interests. At least your intentions are not to destroy an age old culture, but to reform it. If point 1 holds true for you, then you are a pathetic human.
Damn this thread! What’s with PwC and its bashing of Indian left? I never knew this post was going to be seen through the lens of left-right binarification. But since you are at it - making everything about left v/s right, I just hope you bash the left leaning liberals with the same vigor here in the US as well. Please share with us how that has gone for you, sharing all your love for Republicans and other conservatives
@EY2 I consider working in the USA a privilege not a right. I think the current President is a dick not coz he is tightening visa regulations but coz of his behavior towards women. I think you guys need to stop associating migration with liberalism. The man does not hate migration, he wants America first, and I don't blame him. Our own country wants illegal migration stopped. He is completely within his right to tighten migration coz he is an American and you and I are not.
And PwC3, of course liberals are nothing but communists. Thanks for your idiotic false equivalence.
EY2, it was you who used the term Indian left with reference to PwC.
I never mentioned the word liberal. You need to learn the difference between the words leftist and liberal before being liberal with your name calling. You also might want to consider that your clients are reading this too.. and upgrade your comprehension skills before you post again.
I wonder all the people who are making it a feminist topic to talk about women equality even know about the history why women were not allowed in Sabarimala temple!
Hey P3, actually I am pretty well informed about left, liberal and definitely the word ‘COMMUNIST’’, a term that you used very liberally to describe me a few posts ago. Just to let you know, I am a free market, social liberal and definitely a free thinker. And I really hope my client reads this, as a proof of my open-minded views that are not rooted in religion or traditions, allowing me to call out traditional bigots like you
@A1, no one person overwhelmingly represents a religion, and that applies to everyone. Like folks above said, please read why women were not allowed to enter the Sabarimala shrine. Not everything is about men and women. Unlike Abrahamic religions, we have many Gods. With each of those comes the represented culture. Wikipedia says, 'Girls and older women are welcome and join the journey with men, but women in their fertile years do not out of the belief that Ayyappan is a celibate warrior-yogi deity'. I don't see how this belief is misogynistic - women can enter but not when they can bear children. Not because women are objects, but coz of Lord Ayyappa and the belief of his way of life. How, pray tell me, how, does this, trample on women's rights? Read about all those women who are creating a hullabaloo today, read about their religious practices, read their objectives. This is not about women empowerment. This is about, YOLO, I will do it coz I can.
Let me get this straight. You’re trying to win this argument by using Wikipedia as a source 🤦♂️. So using that logic should women also be prevented from visiting a Hanuman temple? Given that there is the belief that he is a Bachelor.
Any ritual, religious practice that is forbidding and is discriminatory in nature should go away, just like Sati, Triple Talaq and many others. And P1, for the umpteenth time, don’t hide behind your attempt to demonize the left (calling everyone that disagrees with you a radical left) to justify your views. You won’t like it if those disagreeing with you start labeling you as a right wing, religious bigot.
Well, I did not call a single person in this discussion a radical left. So it is kinda cool how you rushed to defend. Rehana Fathima who had a blood soaked pad with her while she set out for the temple before 'bigots' stopped her - is Radical left. Being right wing is no issue, but it fans bigotry - it is a political leaning, no taboo. Left wing fans Radical Left like Rehana Fathima. If I can accept the former as a conservative and you can't accept the latter, how does it make you liberal and tolerant?
Still not clear to me P1 why you are so insecure about your faith. How exactly does it make Hinduism less of a religion. I would argue that’s what make Hinduism unique in that it allows for a wide swathe of opinions. Ultimately it’s a matter of faith - whatever each person believes in.
If it bothers you so much why wouldn’t you be on the next flight to India defending the faith instead of working for price water coopers.
