I don't think of it as sabotaging or failing. I changed that way of thinking when my kids were grown, and I think I waited too long. Now I think of my doing nothing is being proactive. 😉
Thursday is the new Monday. I stay as late as I need to make sure lesson plans are done and grading caught up. So I can walk out Friday with my weekend free. It doesn't work 100% of the time but it does most of the time.

When I was in the Gen Ed setting, this was my Wednesday night routine as well!
I'm trying to rephrase the sabotage part. Now I tell myself that taking a break (no plans) is being proactive. It's weird because when I give my permission to do nothing, more often than not I'm more productive than normal.
I usually nap off and on all day Saturday. I just need it. 🤷♀️
It’s okay to rest. I do this to myself too. It made me so happy when I started giving myself grace and let myself just *relax* or enjoy myself again.
What about if you do what makes you happiest on the weekend and see if you can’t squeeze in those chores one at a time before/after work?
Its totally okay to slow down and sabotage your productivity on purpose. I hate the guilt that initially occurred when I rested, but then I realized that I have one life to live and little time to do it. I finally quit working all weekend and bringing it home with me. I’m much happier now that im making my rest a priority too.
I hope you’re able to cut back on your “To Do List” and find more down time to recover from the week and recharge yourself. You are worth it!
