I'm currently at 38L(Fixed) working with Deloitte USI, cleared all the rounds with EYGDS. I am asking for 30% hike only which will be 49.5L(Fixed) and that too they are saying out of budget. This is strange!!!

Tech= aws devops
I hold an offer of 18LPA from KPMG with joining date of 7th September. (Wfh)
I applied at Workday on 15th May and went through 7 technical rounds of interview and received a verbal offer letter of 21LPA (hybrid)
Now apparently their technical panel "forgot" about the interview and wants to have a discussion again as 8th technical interview. HR says their joining date will be 19th September.

I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. This past year was/is the worst in my life by far. Aside from all the Covid mess we’ve all dealt with I lost a parent, an in-law, my spouse has decided they no longer want to be married and my grandmother is in hospice with days left. I believe this was/is my least productive year in my career as a result. I’m worried my job won’t be here in a few months and I’m doing my best to hold it together. A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?
