Scope creep, endless revisions, those last-minute client requests...how do you deal with projects that never seem to truly end?

I would document those changes and if it triggers extension of the deadline or a CO, then you need to renegotiate.

Within reason and as long as your superior isnt complaining member you are in a service industry, your job is to service the client on behalf of the company. That being said, redesigning items previously reviewed and agreed upon should be considered additional services. As with most things, respectful communication is key (including l expectations set forth with a detailed agreement at the start of a project).

Have any of you taken "low bono" clients while working at a firm? I want to take on a low bono client or two but not sure who would get the money. This is a contract opportunity through a non profit so I'm assuming a 1099 will be issued. The per hour rate is significantly less than my billable rate. I would (obviously) like the money but my real objective is just getting experience/networking since I recently moved to a new state and don't have clients of my own.

Additional Posts in Architecture Bowl

I’m curious to know if anyone has experience working part-time in architecture? I have been working for large international firms in NYC for the past 10 years. So I work all day every day. My evenings and often the weekends are all absorbed by work duties. Working part-time would allow me to find a better balance, and carve out space for side gigs and eventually start my own firm. Any recommendations?

Been working as an Assistant Technician for 3 years (2 years excluding pandemic) pay is £21k now £22 adjusted for inflation. I will be completing my Part 1 in architecture but also have a degree in Technology, should I find a different company after graduation or take roles offering £30-45k as an Architectural Technologist/Technician.

I recently moved to Dubai after getting married. I am still continuing my last job but eventually I'll hv to find a new opportunity here. I am from architecture background and wud like if someone who could help me with a referral. As far as my capabilities are concerned, I hv personally loved teaching and managing projects cz I am able to connect with my team/students and get the job done. So it'll be great if someone would want to give me a chance for who I am personally and not just on paper
