I was supportive of Lori when this virus first started but her actions since have dwindled my support of her. I don’t expect her to make every decision correct nor do we have to agree with all of them. I believe she should be correct around 75 percent of the time but I believe she is in the 50 percent range. I know everything doesn’t fall on her shoulder but things haven’t been great as of late. Hopefully they figure out something soon.

LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? What do you guys think about apps like BetterHelp and Talkspace? I understand they might have real therapists working on their content, but a lot of the marketing I see is so vague and broad that it feels like a lie. Seems like "This app got rid of my anxiety with a 30-minute automated text questionnaire" is the new "This tea made me lose 20 pounds in two weeks!" Just seems a little fad-like and money grabby to me. Thoughts?

Hey there! really need a change in pace from being in higher levels of care, and am wanting to go part-time with my company and private practice, but I want to buy a house in the next year and am worried about finances. Can anyone speak to the hardships or successes or a counseling of practice and/or buying a home shortly after starting one? Have you ever dealt with a colleague that believes in extremely (in my opinion) outdated or even just false claims and treats them as scientific facts? I work with several older men but one of them practices "provocative therapy" as in you just play the devil's advocate with your patient and side with the negative half of their thinking. In theory I could see this working situationally, but as a whole philosophy regardless of the patient's issue I think it's ridiculous.

I am sick and tired of mental health professionals getting overworked and underpaid. No other profession I am sure is this horrible!!!

Hello, I’m an LMSW in Michigan. I have 15 years of experience in the field as a clinician, supervisor, and an administrator. I am feeling burnt out and unsure of my future. I have worked mainly in the Community Mental Health and the VA Health systems, hence my fatigue. I’ve flirted with private practice work in the past, but my spouse has been worried about not having affordable healthcare and benefits that each system provides. Is it worth the jump? Am I overthinking things?

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.
