Have you ever dealt with a colleague that believes in extremely (in my opinion) outdated or even just false claims and treats them as scientific facts? I work with several older men but one of them practices "provocative therapy" as in you just play the devil's advocate with your patient and side with the negative half of their thinking. In theory I could see this working situationally, but as a whole philosophy regardless of the patient's issue I think it's ridiculous.

I think there's this myth that therapists have all their own sh*t figured out, and for me at least I know that's far from true (hopefully it isn't just me). On the contrary, I think we should be leading by example!

Did you ever have any issues with your family questioning what you do and saying it wasn't a "real job" ? They think being a social worker is fluffy and I should have just become an "actual doctor or psychiatrist"

How do you deal with imposter syndrome? I'm a new therapist and I work with a bunch of women who have been doing this for ages. They're all really sweet, but I can't help feeling like I'm way out of my league. Hello, I’m an LMSW in Michigan. I have 15 years of experience in the field as a clinician, supervisor, and an administrator. I am feeling burnt out and unsure of my future. I have worked mainly in the Community Mental Health and the VA Health systems, hence my fatigue. I’ve flirted with private practice work in the past, but my spouse has been worried about not having affordable healthcare and benefits that each system provides. Is it worth the jump? Am I overthinking things?

Any recommendations on a good side hustle or part time job? Trying to buy a house (yes I know the economy sucks right now) and it’s been tough saving with a SW salary.
