How is the work life balance in Citi?
Here is the scenario: Have 2 offers from IT MNCs and 1 from Citi. Citi's offer is the highest. Almost 5 lakhs diff in the fixed component. Although money is important, but I am also seeking a little balance with life. I was previously in ZS Associates and to be frank, life was hell. I am not looking to relive that phase again.
What are the daily actual working hours?
Shall I join Citi or let go it for a lower package offer?
Seeking honest advice here.

$850K is possible but a stretch. Based upon our current share value, first year partner could go up to $750K. In addition to this, if they can get multiple team awards (max $60K each), first year comp can cross $850K
I feel very confident in saying all B4 pay the same give or take. Obviously there are outliers but on average I have no reason to believe one would make more or less than another as a rule.
Thank you for the perspective senior associate

As far as I have been able to understand from recruiter calls this is definitely true for Strategy&… was not aware the same thing happened for PWC more generally
You get a range of units as a first year partner, S& normally comes in at the top of the unit range.

First year partner?

Have a family friend that left PwC as a partner (healthcare vertical), and he owned a masssssssive estate in Massachusetts.. ironically enough he left PwC for KPMG, and he got a comp bump for it too.
I got that as analyst, didn’t you?
Thank you papa can I still kiss you on the mouth
It does seem that PwC pays its first year partners significantly more than the other 3., from what I’ve gathered. Coming from a year 3 EY partner.

How does PWC afford to pay its partners more? Isn’t the business model and pie the same for most big 4’s. Or are there fewer PWC partners?
The answer is digital.

PWC partners have made a religion of exaggerating “average” first year comp.
They do well, but don’t take everything you read on an app as gospel.
Tim Ryan has done to PwC what Tim Cook has done to apple. Focus on operational excellence, squeeze as much as you can and increased the share value. To be honest some of the Resource Rates we have don’t make sense ( you can’t tie it back to comp, and before folks come rushing in I am accounting for the overhead costs like Infra, benefits , IFS etc ). The share value has strongly appreciated during Tim’s reign and the partners have reaped the benefits.
This does cause pressure on the teams executing, but it has worked well for the last 6 years so it’s working.
