Senior associate here, after talking to a few firms and liking the people and the work at the four lower ranked firms, what else would you consider before accepting an offer? Would you consider ranking of firms at all? Firms are v10, 2 @ v50, v75 and big law spin off. At this level, I don’t care about money. Can’t gauge where I would be most successful, everyone is saying the right things.

I make 195 in an internal role but am applying to outside consulting opportunities. I’m an experienced manager with an mba and a cpa. How much comp should I be targeting? Thinking about asking for base of 200, bonus of 25% … reasonable? Unrealistic? Should I ask for more? I hear the market is crazy right now. Please help.

I’ve made it 5+ years in a NY M&A practice and have consistent exceeding expectations reviews. I’ve had a few mental breakdowns because of work during this time, but thankfully made it through. Mid 2020, I turned down an opportunity to jump ship from my small law firm to a big law firm. At the time I had 4 years of practice under my belt with managerial experience.
