Not sure if you'll be Technical or Functional Consultant, or if your role is on the Delivery/Implementation side or post go-live. Been here a little under a year and WLB is good. In my experience with my team, functional has a little better WLB than Technical, especially on the post go-live side. It will also depend on which project/customer you're on. All in all, WLB is good. I heard it was bad late 2020 and early 2021, but they've made a lot of efforts to improve that... mostly by hiring pretty aggressively.

My husband is going through the interview process at Vanguard for an entry level software engineering role. He just graduated bootcamp but had been self studying for years as well. He's definitely junior level. What kinds of questions should he expect in his technical interview?

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? TIA!

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. Are you traveling during the pandemic or have client interactions been virtual? Lastly, if you are a consultant here, are you on billable hours? My current consulting role is not - so this would be new.

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. I am also looking to relocate to a different state. How do I go about properly marketing myself to companies that might not take my relocation and minimal experience seriously?

How long does it take to hear back after your final interview for an in house counsel role? I did the final round of interviews for a Bay Area company last Monday and still haven't heard anything. No rejection yet, but the longer I hear nothing, the more I worry they're not confident I'm the right fit.

I thought I was compensated fairly, but would love to see your thoughts.

What law firm is your favorite for run of the mill employment issues in the US and internationally (India, Australia, UK, Germany, etc.). I primarily use Littler because they have a broad reach and decent rates but I’m wondering whether Bird & Bird, Ogletree, or some other firm has similar pricing and as good or better quality work. So, who are you using and are you happy?
