Hi, did anybody ever experience wrong tax calculations by JPMC Payroll/tax team ? Or is there any specific month where they deduct more tax. Huge amount of tax deduction is done for Oct payout. From my CA’s calculation the amount deducted by JPMC team looks wrong. Anybody experienced this?

Is it worth taking the risk for a mere 70k per month salary vs 2.5L per month software engineer salary after 5 years?
Working 7 days a week somewhere at remote village, sacrificing family time (upsc) vs working at home, giving valuable time to family (software engineer)
(I have 4.5 yoe and have 2.5L per month take home, and I am glad i didn't choose the path of UPSC) - i had given my first attempt of UPSC and realised that is not the one

Thanks, I do have similar salary and experience as yours but the thing is I didn't even give it a single try!
If you plan on staying honest you won't move up from the middle class by becoming a public servant. If a bunch of policemen saluting you, ambassdors with red beacon, people buttering you up with sir sir appeals to you then its a good bet.
Also its a totally different story for people who want to serve the country with policy making etc.. Most youth join it to get the power, black money or social capital that comes from relatives
If you’re doing well for yourself as a software developer, I’d recommend don’t stare down that road.. it most likely will take away everything you’ve built so far

One small suggestion. Try to cover basics books along with job and you should not take a break to cover them. Have a reading of all the basic books and standard books. You would get to know how much does it interest you. Sometimes you find that you can't study more than 4-5 hrs a day, if that is the case then why to leave a job (which in itself a great career and full time job).
Then if you feel, leave the job. Don't leave the job without any foundation and preparation. So that after leaving job you're covering NCERTs, Laxmikant, Spectrum, Mrunal etc. Some basic stuff. Otherwise leaving job in hurry would create some extra pressure when you're starting from Zero. You can think of leaving job after 2-3 months when you find that you really want to prepare for it. I'm doing same what I've written.

This is actually a pretty good suggestion to try the preparation with the job and it's very likely that I'll be able to make it in full time if I successfully prepare for 4-5 hours with the job!

Plus even if you were to prepare for upsc full time, I’d still suggest you to give your first attempt in the second year of your preparations.
Haan please try, hundreds of crores ki corpus hogi by the time you retire.

- Have this quality of law abiding, vigilant
- Want to do something big & have good social status
But the thing is as per my current mindset:
- Hard for me to take any bribe
- Hard to support the bad or illegal things
- Had to get dictated to support things that are absolutely wrong
