Hello, I am looking for jobs in Finance, accounting fields and I have done Masters and bachelors in mathematics. I have also done Canadian Investment Funds course Certification, still no luck in finding a good field job. Any referrals in Finance sector or banking sector would be appreciated. I am on PGWP and need a job ASAP. If someone from RBC or Scotiabank can refer me for banking advisor or entry level analyst roles would be great. TIA

I wouldn’t say anything until an offer is received. You can negotiate from there.

No. It’s a bad idea to give your employer heads up that you’re looking elsewhere, especially before you even get an offer. It just alerts them to start looking for your replacement. You can have a conversation about a plan for a raise or promotion and indicate market rates without giving anything else away. Or wait till you have an offer in hand if you want to try for a counter. Though most employers know once you start looking elsewhere it’s only a matter of time till you leave anyway and sometime don’t counter due to this.
