I have an offer as Technical Manager in Mindtree India . I have about 12 years of relevant experience in Java application development and mentoring and team leading. They said it is an onsite role with Mindtree Germany ( already done with client interview). My India salary is decent as per Indian market standards.Any idea how much will they offer me as Germany salary for the onsite role? Is it the same like other MNCs - TCS , Infosys, HCL,Wipro etc? Or how much I can ask? Mindtree

Anyone have similar thoughts / how do you combat them? I don’t want the pay cut that would come with the change but need a sense of purpose and motivation again.
I hear ya man. I miss the brotherhood aspect and was in way better shape than I am now. But in the end there’s no way I could. I’m not getting any younger, on VA disability, and have a kid on the way so the pay cut is not an option. But if you’re truly unhappy I say go for it
Have you looked at the math? With locality pay and LEAP as well as other benefits, I know guys in the FBI and other agencies who are making way more than me.
Ceiling is incredibly low. I spent some time as a Fed, and let me tell you, 90% of your time is spent dealing with bureaucratic BS, and the pay is incredibly subpar. All depends on what you want out of life. For me, the added stress, and bureaucracy wasn’t worth it. I did rejoin the reserves though as a way of not feeling like a total sellout (or at least that’s what I tell myself).
I’m still in the reserves. Most reserve units are BS, so I had to interview several units before settling on one. So far, I feel fulfilled.
