Equal when men start delivering

likefunny

^ that’s an interesting point that I hadn’t considered. Maybe forced equal maternity leave would correct some of the bias towards professional women having children...

like

As a guy, I would say no. Women have to recover physically, in addition to the things the guy needs to do (bonding, lack of sleep, etc.)

like

Female here who is about to go on mat leave for my first child as a banker. While the physical recovery is legit and makes the leave 100% needed, it is super frustrating to see my male counterparts take off only a week or so (when they get 4 weeks leave) because of the implications on work. Im terrified of what it will be like when i return and what reviews will be like for next year when i am only around for 8-9 months out of 12.

Even if the man is taking care of the baby, I think the mother should get leave to recover physically. Haven’t you seen ali Wong’s comedy special?

likefunny

Who uses it should be the big option.

When you have an imbalance in earnings it may make more sense for the father to be primary care giver but if that is unpaid leave and the mother is maternity leave that does not work.

RBS used to give great and equal 13 weeks leave on full pay.

like

Depends who is actually taking care of the baby... tons of work on top of an ANL/ASO positiin... take all the leave you can, the one time when you wont be dinged for it

So addressing the pay gap which drives who is primarily caregiver /breadearner debate , a lot of banks are moving towards exception reports done annually to see if women are at par with men, I think the problem is a lot of women don’t speak up for their own comp, thinking they will loose flexibility with their family, I have one on my team and she just had her third child, my first choice was her for new projects but she denied saying it’s a lot of work and then told me how do I ensure I don’t loose visibility, it’s win some loose some

Hi all!
My mother in law got scammed by a con artist from the UK online and lost $7K (damn you Facebook!)

Her status in the US is currently complicated and she doesn’t have a green card(tho she’s working on it), my wife(her daughter) is American.

I want to report this to the FBI’s elder fraud department but I don’t want to complicate her situation even more.

Does anyone know if criminal stuff like this and immigration related things are separated?

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. I don’t want to miss the right person because of my bias, so im wondering how many healthcare related AMs have healthcare/clinical experience… thanks in advance!

Hi all, I’d love to hear from PR/Comms folks about the process of transitioning from agency to an in-house role. What kind of chance does a PR pro with ~7 years of solid experience across CPG and hospitality brands, including a mix of global agency work and smaller boutique firms, have at going in house? Do you typically need more experience before going in house? Would be great to hear about various experiences from those that have made the transition. Thanks!
