Should you try to negotiate salary if the offer met the salary ask and is already at the top of the range?

I mean, there's no harm in trying. The worst they'll say is no. I'm personally of the opinion that you shouldn't say no for them and you should always try and get as much money and benefits as possible for yourself.

like

Why not? You don’t have to be pushy, just curious. Ask if there's flexibility or room for a signing bonus, equity, extra PTO, or professional development perks. The worst they can say is no!

I would try.

A good general rule is that anything that can be negotiated should be. If nothing else, it establishes that you're not a pushover. But, if you've already gotten what you've asked for, it might seem odd to be initiating negotiations. Perhaps you could try to negotiate something non-salary, like more vacation time, or some other perk. Companies have rescinded offers when people have appeared unserious or demanding, so that's always a concern.

If the company listed a salary range in the job description, I'd recommend checking the company's wording. If they specifically expressed that the range is non-negotiable, then don't negotiate above the top of the range. Even if the company didn't say that the range was set in stone, I wouldn't recommend negotiating because you could lose the job opportunity. I hope this helps!

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more. I would be making much less than I do now, but it is a dream company.
