So a friend of mine just got an offer from Deloitte. There is no office within ~2hrs of their city and while they are offering some signing bonus, they’ve said they cannot offer relocation. Is this normal? Friend will have to break a lease and make accommodations for all of their things to be moved. Have other people successfully negotiated this? Seems ridiculous given there is no office near them and full-remote was not an option.

While applying for visa my company quoted 80K as compensation. Now they want to reduce it to 75K.

Is investment banking a stressful field? If so, more stressful than consulting?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
