So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

We are often having the sitting duck experience after being hired because there is little to no thought or effort given to retention or the belonging experience - and that includes addressing and fixing a toxic culture.
On the quota thing, what I’ve seen and heard across the industry is that recruiting teams are checking boxes and hitting # targets by *considering and interviewing* quite a number of Black and other non-white talent. Thanks to semantics, this alone suffices for inclusive recruitment commitments at a lot of shops.
If/when questioned about why there are still so many white and traditional hires, the recruiters then say they tried very hard but the “best people were picked for the job”.
Actual diverse *hiring* quotas are rare unfortunately.
