I am currently working at Meta as a Recruiting Coordinator under contract. That contract will soon come to term in July. There hasn’t been any talks about extending my contract, so I am getting very nervous about potentially being out of work in July. Been in Seattle for ~1 year and something I’ve observed is the constant s*it-talking of the city from the locals. Is this because they haven’t experienced other places? While the current homelessness in the city needs to be handled, crime is still relatively low compared to other major cities. The complaints about gloominess also seems a bit dramatic. I’m from the NE and am so grateful to not be dealing with snowy winters and sweltering summers.

Fellow P&T Directors - here’s a thread for us to discuss what we are hearing/not hearing with regards to PCLDE and the making of new partners in P&T.

On every call, we hear Joe talk about making new Partners and his commitment. I have yet to see any of those ‘commitments’ be reflected in actions or explanations. (eg. No senior directors from commercial GTM going into PCLDE this year …) What?

Do they really think we’re going to ‘stick around’ until they ‘figure it out’ …

Why does the P&T org view Suneet as a Pope-like figure?

Clearly he has ascended and is respected, but it’s comments like this — ‘Wow! You got to meet with Suneet?!?,’ that make me wonder. 🤔

P&T AMA is mainly people asking softballs and wishing Joe happy birthday. While I do wish Joe a happy birthday as well, I'd love to see a more candid AMA... perhaps on this bowl, where people can ask what's REALLY on their minds without having to put their name to it? Kudos to the one guy boldly pointing out the current comp issues...

I have to admit that I wasn't terribly impressed by the virtual Co-Lo for Digital. The exception to that, though, was David's insightful comment that leadership knows and expects that many of us are struggling to come back from the pandemic, and it's okay to ask for help and or take a leave. Digital culture, and how we are real and take care of each other, is just AMAZING. That speech alone made me so proud to be here and turned around a lot of my negative thoughts.

Any advices/tips to make it to a director in P&T? (Engineering)

How has P&T been affected by recessions in the past ? Are internal app teams more safe ? Also how is the severance package calculated.
