So this is a FIRE-adjacent question: I’m 25, no debt to speak of, well-paying job and $30k emergency fund (nvm retirement savings). My issue is I still don’t have a credit card.

Thinking about either Chase Sapphire Preferred, Capital One Venture Rewards, or Apple Card (based on where I expect to spend money in the next 1-2 years as a consultant). With 2+ years of income history and that number in my bank account, will I qualify? Or are those cards strictly for those with prior credit history?

Do you know your credit score? I have chase sapphire reserve. Had the preferred for a couple of years. Really like both of them (though reserve isn’t worth it in the current environment)

I disagree. With the $550 charge, you get $300 in travel credit that they expanded to include grocery. You also get $60 in door dash credit and 15% off Lyft which saved me ~$100 in 2020. Assuming you use these plus earning points, it is worth it even today if you plan on keeping it after the pandemic

NerdWallet has great credit card info and a fantastic selector. Read up!

Amex gold card is my personal favorite. Great point categories for daily use. Lots of meals benefits like $10 grubhub credit and $10 Uber eats credit every month that pretty much pay for the annual fee itself.

I had a college credit card for 3 years prior to applying but my income was just 70k. I think as long as you have a high enough income then theyll approve you for the gold card or the chase sapphire preferred. If you need a referral for the Amex gold lmk!

If you have a well paying job in sure they'll give you something.

Get Costco membership and the credit card. Nothing beats that in the value you get.

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

2. You would ask questions, and whoever is able to answer it, you will give some merchandise only to them?, And the other people are not your employees?
Why are you even organizing it? You think people would come from far places just for lunch?

Would have to finance the whole thing myself. Current net worth is 140k. Thoughts?
