Depends on the actual rate booked, not any standard policy.
Newbie. Ask for the manager on duty.
It’s my own money, so I will push back with the force of a thousand middle-seat airplane travelers against fat dudes in the aisle or window seat who fight them over their armrest.
If you ask them nicely, they usually let it slide. But yes I believe it is standard to change one night rate.
More than that, it depends on interpretation/enforcement of rate rules. More often than not, most properties would let you slide. Unless you give them a reason not to…
Ah, apologies big blue.
You need to check your booked rate for "no early departure penalty." If it's not included, you're at their mercy.
Anyone else experience? I have also walked out of a W mid-stay in fury and never heard a peep edgewise about some early checkout fee.
I don't think it's standard policy- never had a problem unless it was a prepaid rate
IBM: First question I posed was “who has the authority to fix this for me.” General manager wasn’t on for a couple hours—I await their email. Also plan to call my room tonight to see if it is occupied.
Didn't mean you were a newbie. The desk person seems not versed in dealing with Plats.
Yeah push back until they relent. Generally they don’t want to piss off plats but YMMV.
Yea OP, I've checked out early a number of times and never had an issue. I'd get it fixed
Great metaphor (or was it a simile?) re pushing back.
If you don't get satisfaction with the hotel itself, work through Platinum customer service. Given your status, you *shall* prevail!
Metaphor—similes require a comparison using “like” or “as”. Thanks for rooting for me Pdubbs <3
This rule is in the T&Cs but is rarely enforced
