Hi fishes,
Why TCS is so rude and self proclaimed kinda. I declined TCS offer last year as they were giving very less CTC. Now I got interviewed again with TCS and cleared all the rounds but they are not reactivating my ibegin portal for document upload since I rejected them last year...in this way u think they will never ever reactivate my profile.

Hi Fishes,
What’s variable payout range for D1?
Thinking about leaving my position at Red Ventures as a Software Engineer, for an internship at AWS with potential to be hired full time. Right now I’m making 75-90k a year at RV but from what I hear at Amazon Web Services I could be making double. But I worry about the burn out at FAANG companies. Opinions? I feel my salary is pretty low for what I do.
What’s paid better at McK? Associate or Analyst?

Anybody aware of the marketing corrections in Accenture for level 10? Accenture Interactive
I have already completed 1 year with Accenture and is now eligible for a sub level movement. What is the usual increment given for sub level movement? And what should be the ideal fixed package for level 10.1 ?

I’ve had my bill rate high (now) and low (Federal work). I much prefer the comp/benefits/perks that generally come along with high bill rates

You realize the differential between your bill rate and your base + bonus isn't how much your firm makes right? Other items that eat up that amount:
-Employee benefits (health insurance, 401(k) match, pension, etc.)
-Supporting corporate functions (IT, marketing, etc.)
-Project startup and support not directly billed to client (contracting, project financials managment, etc.)

And, of course, many projects are sold well under an individual’s bill rate, sometimes substantially so.
No. Consulting firms are not non-profits.

No because if I tried to charge my take home pay to any company without the bcg badge, I would get laughed at
My take-home pay for a day's work is more than I used to make in a week. No stress here. Just gratitude.

Had my own shop and dropped my bill rate by more than 2x and I doubled my compensation.
I am thankful that I have safe harbor right now though.

I am a Product Manager
They are varied. So I a started managing the product of “new segment ops/ops tech”
Now I am managing a program in a new product/customer segment that includes oversight of operations, technology, and new sites.
Would you say so when you are on bench?
Came here to say the same thing.
Also if I could sell myself at my current bill rate but I cant so happy to work and take a salary
Once saw the project spreadsheet and used bill rate & cost rates to estimate partners’ compensation. My.gawd. $1M+
That didnt piss me off as much as knowing I was the most profitable team member on the project.
Billing rates are usually set high to give the company room to negotiate price down to meet the clients budget. It's not uncommon to sell work at a +50% discount.
Then is the fact that a good chunk of the rate isn't for your time. It's for the support network behind you, the unbilled work in telling your inexperienced ass what to so, the firm's offices, the parter's boat, the training courses you go on, and your partner's wife/husband's cosmetic surgery.
Truly - this too - for some work that the partners are gunning for I’ve seen 15% discount and higher

I try not to focus on that and instead use my bill rate for flexing in internal ACN d*ck-measuring contests.
I remember the actuaries blowing my rate out of the water- fun times.
you need your pimp to find your work...? isnt it as simple as this? your pimp is acting as an agency providing a protection service

On one project back in the day where I was making around $75k while being billed at ~$350/hr, sure.
Haven't cared about it since then.
Definitely at big 4 when I saw how much overhead there was that my salary covered. And that none of that overhead really seemed to benefit me.
What’s your bill rate?
It makes me happy to know my bill rate makes me valuable to the company paying me (well) and that I may one day have an opportunity to be one of those partners making the big bux

Not at all. I know they care about me and I like what I do. They did not force me to work here.
No
No, it’s market education. If you ever go out on your own you understand what orgs are paying for that service. Also, these consulting firms need to grow and assume a lot of risks in other areas.
