Pay is not market but highly competitive. Black box bonus. Very political. You have to have a relationship with a partner to get work. Overall good culture though.

I’m a products liability associate at B&T. The work is good and there’s plenty of it. Other groups may be more political (not sure) but the products group has a ton of work so as long as you do good work it’s not hard to succeed

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly.
