Depends on the client. Once you land your first project ask the team. When in doubt professionally, just go with a suit - the embarrassment of overdressing as a a consultant is so much easier to deal with then under dressing. I’ve had client ask people to leave before. Polos and chinos in your home office is probably fine on Fridays but would suggest chinos and a button down for other days in home office

Of course it’s all over the map. Engage the team first, 99% will tell you to just follow what the clients are doing. Some teams (old school) managers may prefer you to dress slightly above it - end of the day they’re paying a premium for your services so there maybe some imaging stuff going on.

At client site, it depends entirely on the client. Some clients are suit clients, some clients are casual clients.

If I can give some unsolicited feedback, please don’t say “MBB”. Just name the firm or say consulting.
Pro
Most of the clients don’t wear suits. Some of the clients barely go into the office.
Armani jeans, plaid shirt, and Patagonia vest with all birds is the move.
