Still getting used to my new boss … used to work with very experienced people and the new person doesn’t seem to have too much ideas in my work direction and the good thing is they are really chill but the downside is other senior execs have alot of expectations for my role but my boss doesn’t 🌚🌚🌚🌚

Get under a new manager/director. If they don’t know what to expect of you I doubt they know what the client expects in terms of whatever you’re delivering.

It's been a challenging year for me, including a rejection from GSAP. This week, I got into my top choice MBA program - and an M7 to boot! Just goes to show that sometimes Deloitte's decisions can be misaligned to the greater world.
I hope that Deloitte gives me the chance to be a good brand ambassador - but at the point, it's up to the firm if I even consider coming back :)

Hi fishies! Considering an internal big 4 move from Western Europe to Dubai. Not sure about WLB and whether there’ll be enough growth and learning opportunities after reading some of the threads here. Anyone up for sharing their experience? Especially concerned about sexism / racism as a WOC…and whether moving back to Europe in a few years will be difficult because the ME experience won’t be considered valuable.

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!

So I’m only contributing to 401k enough to get employer match, and I’m saving an additional ~20% and putting 90% of that into my vanguard mutual funds. Reasoning is that I don’t want to lock away all that money maxing out 401k. Have 3 months expenses liquid in a savings account. Is this really dumb? Essentially trading tax for the option of actually using my money.
