Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

please cite an example ... I respect them as my they are not just my co-workers or report to me or neighbours ... they are human beings and thus not every Indian you will meet is a saint ... some may be more personable than others ... but hate is a strong word .. except those participating in a genocide, no one is hated in this world.

Perhaps you should call it out directly with whoever is. Everyone on this thread seems to be confused. I worked at a company that is over half Indian, all of them were welcomed, respected, admired, etc., so I like confused by your remarks That seemed to imply all of us need to do a better job

It’s really hard to make the racist comment when minorities are being lifted up, highest ranking Latino ever. Highest ranking Indian. Highest ranking gay man. Youngest press secretary woman. It just looks petty when you try to diminish their progress and achievements, while ignoring the facts. The fact is there is good representation based on skills. D2. That's not hate. That's a different story. There are plenty diploma mills in Canada. They target mostly indian nationals, but the problem is this industry that has grown to cater an "education" for people to gain Canadian permanent resident status who end up with no marketable skills. The problem that these folks face is that they will be ill prepared for a life in Canada. You end up with little marketable skills coming out of those programs, and life in Canada is very expensive.

Indian is not an ethnicity. So I think you meant Indian in the context of people from the country.
Americans , by far, are the most hated nationality on social media. Probably Israel is next. India is home to billion people , and they are represented more than anyone on all of social media. So it is volume game. In reality, Indians in the US are extremely well off and I don’t think they are more hated than other minorities.
I have seen more Indians blasting others for minor criticism of anything India related or being obnoxious over posts by women. Again, not saying everyone is like that. But a few bad Indians online can be bigger than all of world combine
there have been many lawsuits in the US with the Indian Caste system used by Indians among themselves. Can you begin to imagine how that would fly if people really understood how prevalent and normalized that hierarchy system is ??
