Yep, choking someone to death is “ Frowned upon”. But, remember Its the Thought that counts👍. And if you get down /frustrated and an idiot thinks their the “optimist”, that’s the clown that say “ Cheer up! …. When things are going Their way.

In this line of job, it's dangerous to have anger issues or having difficulty handling emotions. This job needs focus or presence of mind. You will the citizen's life in jeopardy if you can't even handle your ownself.
It may sound funny, but i have researched embodiment practices for managing anger and found some interesting (and helpful) things to try. Ultimately, it sounds like you know you should work on your anger. These practices are usually quite simple and you can do them alone whenever you need to feel calm and supported.
Only anger management classes and the admission by the person that they have a problem may solve this kind of personality issue. The person must genuinely wish to improve. What steps are you taking to resolve these problems?
I'm curious to know what ways you're employing to handle your anger issues. Do you work on it with a therapist?
I'm actually quite surprised you even passed the psych test when you admittedly have rage issues to work on. I've known some people who were weeded out of law enforcement because of their poor anger management.
Ask and respond truthfully to yourself. Is it appropriate to feel angry over this? I'm going to be up front and truthful with you. 90% of the time, "no" is the correct response. In these situations, you should practice taking slow, deep breaths, backing away, and explaining to the other person why you are upset and that you think what they are doing is unreasonable.
I understand the struggle. Being a police officer can be a very stressful job and it is normal to have moments of frustration. That said, it is important to remember that you are expected to remain professional and act in accordance with the law and police policies. When you start to feel overwhelmed, it is important to take a few moments to pause and take some deep breaths. Doing this will help you to gain control of your emotions and focus on the situation at hand. Additionally, you may want to reach out to a colleague or supervisor for support.
There is a difference between having some extremely stressful days with anger as residue, that gradually dissipates and such a “personality type”, in my opinion. In Corrections, there are days in which an angel would be screaming curses, against all odds. That is not to be confused with chemical imbalance in the brain when the person is always angry or ready to explode. It seems you are the first version, but some comments talk about the second…just to clarify.
