I format the spreadsheets while I'm thinking. Formatting is my stressball.
^true story. Part of the I've been trying to stall wifey on having kids. I'm pretty sure they're way more demanding than supervisors and don't care how many projects you have going on.
Communicate. We can only adjust schedules and reassign work if we know what your concerns are.
No but let me know if you figure this out. Same issue.
You need to properly manage expectations, communicate to your supervisor what you have on your plate and how long it is going to take you to complete.
I feel that the expectations are a bit unrealistic. One person can only cover so much. Adding new (but great) projects without taking something off my plate would be completely unrealistic.
You can do that and yet somebody has to do the work.
Not speaking months long audits here. Talking smaller market atmosphere juggling 10 projects a week is a normal week. Worse during busy season.
@OP, it is unrealistic. But it happens all the time. And it needs to change. Everyone says the engagement dynamics doesn't support "X"...yet the partners still get paid pretty damn well. Not that they shouldn't but a staff wouldn't make a dent in that.
Kudos to you people who do this for a living with spouses and kids.
In the same boat... told to do more in less time again and again, but good work really do require certain amount of time ... I plan to stop formatting the spreadsheet pretty, that will cut the hours.
Fuck unrealistic expectations. Tired of this bullshit 😰
Size matters.
@senior associate 1, that's just what they tell you when they don't like you and you don't measure up.
