I didn’t work at a large store, I worked for a mom and pop hardware store in a small town.
I can’t count how many times I’d have the place locked up, register all counted down and whole locking the front door or walking to my car if I saw someone wanting to get in I’d go back and let them in. I always told my customers “ if I’m here, I’m open “!
You don’t have to be in a small town to give small town service.

I can totally relate to this... I had one customer talking about a candy bar to me for 10 mins...
I always finish later than closing, so I make sure to stay up front and there for the customer in case any of the cashiers need to leave. The supervisor needs to wait so I usually chat with them and we joke around and make the situation a positive one!
Honestly, you just roll with it 😅 Stay patient, keep the energy up, and try not to let the chaos get to you.
That what I have been trying so far. Just trying to roll with it and keeping myself unbothered by the chaos.
