Tell me about the clause in the Guidehouse offer letter that says “Your salary can be raised or lowered at the company discretion based on market conditions.” Is that boilerplate? Ever heard of anyone getting big money to join Guidehouse and then having their salary lowered?

Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. I have colleagues doing intense data science tasks as BI Analysts, and can’t help but feel indignant on their behalf because when hearing their job title, one would underestimate their technical ability.
