Test drove a 2024 Toyota Venza a few months back, wife loved it but way out of budget ($48k OTD). Just saw a 2021 Venza, $32k at 29k miles thru a Mini dealership. Pending more details on OTD and PPI, I’m tempted to pull the trigger on that instead, esp with Venza being discontinued at the end of the year.

Is it worth waiting to pony up for a new car knowing I’ll be covered the first few years bc of warranty? Or is the market that bad that used is the way to go? Planning on keeping long term.

It’s a Toyota if you like it, pull the trigger I’ve never had a complaint with a Toyota in my life. Wow they are going to discontinue the Venza for a second time, Toyota makes way too many small/mid size SUVs I think that’s why. The RAV4, Corolla cross and Venza are all similar.

We test drove the RAV4, was a little too rough and utilitarian for my wife (she’ll be primary driver) - Venza was incredibly smooth and luxury-like, with shades of Lexus.

My aunt is still running a 10-year-old Venza with 200k miles on it; no real major issues. I'm not a crossover guy, but it handles better than I expected it to and has a decent interior.

Why would but a car that is being discontinued? You'll be diverted by warranty for the first few years, but after that? I would think parts availability is going to be a factor in the long-term ownership of the car.

It's a Toyota. The parts are shared across tons of models.

I bought a brand new Model Y for less than that (if you include federal incentives and depending on your state’s incentive)

Both cost around the same - Lexus is more reliable and likely holds its value better but the Yukon is bigger and likely even safer.
