That feeling when your company has a hiring freeze and is “struggling”, but just stocked the kitchen with a bunch of $5k fridges

Has anyone taken a more junior role in investment banking to prove themselves to a higher caliber firm with the intent on them hiring you and promote you once they see your capabilities? Currently have a 1 YOE experience at a boutique investment bank and just did 3 interviews at a bulge bracket but failed to make it pass the last one due to the firm going with another Candidate

A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles. I believe that one PM role is preferred in the industry and most modern software companies, especially FAANG companies, only have PMs. Just curious what others have experienced and if I'm correct in my assumption.

I accepted a 95k systems engineer role in VA with KBR and is currently going thru a clearance.(MAY START DATE)
Northrop offers me 92k w/ 3k sign on which is 30 min from home in MD for an associate systems role. They also want to give me a clearance but it will start as an interim so I can work sooner than may. MY DILEMMA: Kbr states that they know I need money now so I can accept an offer with Northrop to see if I like it until may.BUT can I have 2 security clearances running at the same time?

I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Had an interview today which went so bad that I feel that I don't even deserve to be in the company I am in. Why would someone pay for a person who couldn't solve a simple program!

What is the best feedback(or feedback you’ve heard) to provide to a rejected candidate who is a close second but the other candidate just seems to be a bit better cultural fit?

Candidate we are proceeding has more energy, genuine, came across more authentic. Which is something hard to quantify.

I had a conscious uncoupling from a place that the CCO would push testimonials over every real idea. They are still doing testimonials. I feel good.

I’m not a big thanksgiving person. I’m not ungrateful, I kinda just go thru the motions. Except this past year had more motion than usual. Shit went bad. It hurt. I fell apart. One of my only stable forces was my job. I didn’t think about it at the time. I am now. It would be weird tell my team this, a lot of personal details would have to be explained, and I’d cry, so I’m saying it here instead. I am thankful for my team. I am thankful for my desk. I am thankful for the same meetings I complain about. Even when I’m only ‘responding without comments’, I’m still thankful.

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team.It’s really taken a toll on my confidence
