What is the best feedback(or feedback you’ve heard) to provide to a rejected candidate who is a close second but the other candidate just seems to be a bit better cultural fit?

Candidate we are proceeding has more energy, genuine, came across more authentic. Which is something hard to quantify.

We would’ve offered both if we had 2 roles

I think it would be better if you just don't mention that he was that close to getting the job. Just thank him, explain your reason (focus more on his strengths but don't forget to mention where he needs improvement), and end it positively.

You just have to deliver the normal spiel. Don't need to tell the candidate the why you truly have to reject him. Just give him a little feedback then wish him luck.

Thank you for considering us at X company. The selection process for the next round was highly competitive and we have decided to move forward with a candidate whose qualifications better fit our needs at this time. Gratitudes, gratitudes, ending.

I don't tell them whether they are close or not because I just don't want to add to that...but I do tell them they did great, they are going in another direction but I do tell them any actionable/constructive feedback that I think could help them moving forward

Hi fishes, my friend recently had a bitter experience with Dish Network. So her profile was shortlisted and they asked few questions over email. It did take good 2hrs to answer and she replied back. HM said we are good to go for interview and sent an invite. On the day of interview nobody turned up, neither they gave an update later. She did follow up for a couple of days but no response. Is there any reason why this happens ? Me being in HR field felt this to be a little unprofessional.

Good Morning all,

Since I pivoted into TA (from the Wild West known as Finance) Tech Recruiting has always been the goal. But I’m having a hard time finding a way to get into that space (I do understand there’s a hiring crisis). Nevertheless, does anyone know of tech companies that are hiring? I may be low on the experience side so I’m willing to look at contract/ entry roles as well. Also, any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
