That poll about dead weight at the partner level got me thinking: What has to happen for a partner to get booted out? And why doesn't it happen more often if so many of them drag everyone else down?

There are fewer dead weight partners than what people think. There are ultra high performing partners and then ones that are adequate. Lower performers are kicked or the comp is reduced to where they are partner by title only.

The problem is that there’s too many partners and the size of the market doesn’t grow at the same pace, more and more partners will not perform as expected no matter how much pressure is put on them 😂

It happens all the time. We get performance reviews and our version of PIPs. Then you get “counseled” out but with more of a parachute than general staff members.

 I want to extract the data from a word file into
 sql server tables. Like after uploading a word
 file it will pull the data from it and then 
 update the various tables in SQL server.

Do you get the feeling that there is a higher image promotion of women/minority people in Tech?I have seen way to many pictures from major tech companies that promote far more women/minorities than white males in their marketing materials.Wouldn't be better if we hired the best people no matter what the race/gender is?I know some companies are not publishing any gender/race stats but you cant't really demand a 50/50 ratio.Also there is no coincidence that most execs is some companies are British. T3 firm reached out re: direct admit to the partnership with some runway to grow the practice. I am at a firm now where there aren’t bright line metrics to make PPMD, but think I could make it in 2-5 years. This would be a step down in brand, but might be better from a WLB and getting to start at partner. Haven’t had firm comp talks yet but range was well north of 50% increase in cash comp from current (plus LT equity, draws, etc). Anyone take $ over brand? what are some traps to watch for?
